Edward F. Cowle

Edward F. Cowle is currently CEO of Thorium Energy, Inc. Thorium is an alternative to uranium and is used as a fuel to operate nuclear power plants. Ed Cowle is a Director and Principal of Laser Technology, Inc., a private company that designs, manufactures and markets laser measuring devices for use in law enforcement, recreation, and professional measurement.
He is also a co-founder and Director of Luminessence Technologies, Inc., a private company whose stock is jointly owned by New York University. Ed Cowle is co-founder and Director of Obesity Technologies, Inc., a private company whose stock is jointly owned by Temple University. Certain of the company’s intellectual property has been licensed to CR Bard (BCR NYSE) and is currently undergoing human trials, funded by CR Bard, at Temple University for obesity prevention. Ed Cowle is a Director of and Trustee for the Children’s International Obesity Foundation (CIOF) and is a Trustee for the Art of Peace Charitable Trust. He is also a major contributor to the Foundation for Advanced Research. Ed Cowle has been a Senior Vice President – Investments with Paine Webber, and a senior broker with Bear Stearns and Co. Ed resides in New York City and has 14-year-old twins — a boy and a girl.
