Amy Holzman is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (B.A. 1989) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1995). At Fordham, Ms. Holzman was a member and published author of the Fordham Law Review. Ms. Holzman also did post graduate trust and estates course work in Taxation at New York University School of Law. Ms. Holzman is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Ms. Holzman is the head of the Wills, Trusts and Estates Department at Guzov Ofsink, LLC. Prior to joining GO, Ms. Holzman had her own practice and prior to that she was an Associate at the firm of Debevoise & Plimpton, advising and structuring tax plans for high net worth individuals, corporate and individual executors and trustees, and charitable entities. Ms. Holzman regularly lectures to various groups regarding estate planning topics.

Ms. Holzman prepares a wide variety of estate plans for U.S. and non-U.S. citizens, traditional and non-traditional families, and a range of individuals, including those with complex tax and personal issues. Ms. Holzman’s goal is to create optimal estate plans that not only reduce taxes and protect assets for family members, charities and other beneficiaries, but also ease the process of administration at death and avoid potential litigation. Ms. Holzman creates individualized estate plans for each client, based on the size of the client’s estate, the complexity of family and personal issues, and a comprehensive review of the client’s assets and death benefits. In consideration of the state of flux of the tax laws, Ms. Holzman prepares wills with maximum postmortem flexibility to minimize taxes. She routinely prepares health care proxies, living wills, powers of attorney, and sets up various revocable and irrevocable trusts that benefit individuals and charities.

Ms. Holzman’s practice also includes estate administration; she represents individual beneficiaries, charities, executors, administrators and trustees. Ms. Holzman’s knowledge about the taxation of trusts and estates allows her to simplify estate administration for her clients by advising them on issues such as gift, estate, and generation‐skipping transfer taxation.
